![]() In The Mouth of the Young is the second offering from the now California based, Bullets and Octane, and definitely the CD that defined their dirty punk based rock sound. 12 tracks long, or 13 if you have the bonus track version, the album seems to storm through at such a pace that you will be left feeling that you need to hit the repeat button in order to truly take it all in! Saying that though, it is still an decent length record at 42 minutes long, and not one of those minutes is filled with a dull intro of filler track that have become so common on many albums. The provocative cover art features Suicide Girl Hera, breast feeding an infant child. It is an image as captivating and full of meaning as the lyrics of lead vocalist, Gene Louis. Album opener Going Blind starts the album off, with the band throwing everything they've got at you, without any hesitation! Grinding, dirty, fast paced guitars lay the way for Louis' equally gritty yet enjoyable vocal style. The three minute track is a perfect show piece, carrying with it a sense of urgency and defining what the album, and indeed the band, is about. Stand out tracks include I Aint your saviour, Cancer California & Save Me Sorrow which was featured in WWE Wrestlemania 22! In The Mouth Of The Young is out now on Rcare records Album reviewed by Prelude/Will Brookes
