Default Marionette - Spite

Swedish youngsters Marionette began touring when the average age of their band was only 16. Within the first year of touring, the band had made quite a name for themselves on the local metal circuit, placing high in several music contests, both national and international. Fans eagerly awaiting their debut album. That album was released in January of last year and was named, Spite.

Spite is 12 tracks of music that challenges what metal has come to be. Fusing together elements of the Gothenburg music scene with a more hardcore sound, along with their Japanese visual-kei image, the band are a refreshingly new sound in a metal market full of bands that sound all too similar.

Album opener Parasite jumps right into the pace and finesse displayed throughout the album. Driven by the breakneck drumming and melodic keys, the song instantly showcases the bands individuality and demonstrates a clear understanding of how to create powerful and striking music.

The track from which the albums name derives, In Spite is another great example the way Marionette can take a well known musical genre, shape it, tweak it and make it their own, until it becomes a whole new beast.

With a new album on the cards, Marionette look set to move from strength to strength, and at such a young age, they have the potential to become huge, and to stay that way for a very long time!

Spite is out now on Listenable Records

My girlfriend and me saw these when we went so watch deathstars. I thought they were miles better than the defiled. We spoke to them for quite some time outside the corperation in sheffield. There very nice people and we got all their autographs! =D
Another bit of information is that the drummer always gets pissed off cos no one ever recognises him. Thats from the lips of Marionette not me lol
