{Reviewed} Blaqk Audio - CexCells

AFI's Davey Havok & Jade Puget take a step back from the world of rock with their 2007 album, Cexcells.

Anyone familiar with AFI will instantly recognize the distinctive and somewhat piercing vocal sytlings of Davey Havok, but that is where the similarities end.

Blaqk Audio is an entirely different outfit all together.

Right from the first note of album opener, 'Stiff Kittens', it is evident that the pair have immersed themselves in a realm of synthesizers and drum machines.

The pounding electro, although something new & different, is somewhat familiar, and carries Havok's lyrics extraordinarily well.

As well as 'Stiff Kittens', listen out for the faster paced 'Snuff On Digital' and the more dark wave, industrial influenced, 'Bitter For Sweet'

If music were to be a visual art form, this album would definitely be blaqk!
