RIP Paul Gray |
|
May 25, 2010 - 10:49 AM - by Rogue
|

Slipknot bassist Paul Gray has been found dead in a hotel in Des Moines. Cause of death has not yet been released but there doesn't appear to be any evidence of foul play. A hotel employee found his body at around 10:30AM. Slipknot have not yet released an official statement regarding the sad news.
Our thoughts are with pauls wife and family as not only is this news dreadful in itself, but Pauld and his wife Brenna were expecting their first child.
Will Slipknot carry on playing? The band have repeatidly said in various interviews that if one of them left or died they would not carry on with the band. It is indeed some very sad news for Slipknot and Rock fans alike as yet another legend has passed this year. Paul Gray was a very under rated bass player but anyone who has had the pleasure of watching Slipknot perform will know exactly how awesome and talented he was!
His memory will live on.
Paul Gray, April 1972 - May 2010

|
Apr 15, 2010 - 2:25 PM - by Prelude
|

Type O Negative frontman Peter Steele has passed away.
The bands keyboardist, Josh Silver has confirmed to Blabbermouth that the band's iconic frontman, Peter Steele, has passed away at the age of 48. It is believed at this point that Steele died yesterday (Wednesday, April 14).
Whilst no official cause of death has been released as of yet, it is believed that Steele died of heart failure. According to various unconfirmed reports, Steele had been ill for days leading up to his death.
Fuse TV's Mistress Juliya (a.k.a. Juliya Chernetsky) was the one who broke the news via her Twitter page last night. She made a post claiming she had spoken to Type O's guitarist Kenny Hickey just before midnight New York time, and that he had confirmed that the rumours were unfortunately true.
Rogue Tomato's sympathies are with the friends, families and millions of fans around the world.
Mr Steele, you will be missed.

Download Festival Launch new website |
|
Feb 12, 2010 - 1:08 PM - by Rogue
|

Update: The final 2 headliners have been announced. Rage Against The Machine and Aerosmith. Roll on June. We are now excited.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the last few weeks Downloadfestival.co.uk has been a small holding page with a line up and ticket information on it, now however the new website is available, and looking mighty fine we must say! There is still no new announcements however we think there will be soon. Booked so far on the bill is the mighty AC/DC, Deftones, Them Crooked Vultures, Wolfmother, Volbeat, Megadeath, Motorhead, Bullet For My Valentine and Stone Temple Pilots.
Rogue Tomato already have their tickets for this year, so we are looking forward to it already, as soon as the sun comes out and a hint of summer fun arrives, the excitement will be unbearable.
On Monday the 15th, the final 2 headliners will aso be released to the world, so who knows who thats going to be eh...For some odd reason, I am hopeing for Status Quo, since they headlined MOR in 1982, I think it would be awesome to bring them back.
We' keep you posted. | www.downloadfestival.co.uk

Disturbed new album in the works..Asylum |
|
Apr 21, 2010 - 7:45 PM - by Rogue
|

DISTURBED are back in the studio in Los Angeles putting the finishing touches on their new album, titled Asylum. Asylum will be released by Reprise Records late this summer.
Disturbed are producing this new album themselves, just like they did with Indestructable, which they began writing in September 2009 and then started recording in February of this year. Front man David Draiman describes it as “still identifiably DISTURBED, but showing more maturation. We feel this is one of the strongest bodies of work we’ve ever put together. It definitely goes in familiar areas, but with new levels of precision and skill.”
